Juanita K. Hammons Hall For the Performing Arts
This 2,300 seat multi-purpose performing arts center is located on the campus of SMSU. Springfield Art Museum
Founded in 1928, the Art Museum is Springfield's oldest cultural institution. A variety of rotating exhibits can be seen throughout the year. Located at 1111 E. Brookside Drive, Springfield. Mo., the museum is open Tuesday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm, and Wednesday 6:30 pm -9 pm. (417) 866-2716.
Springfield Ballet
Along with a variety of yearly performances in the Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts and the Vandivort Center, these talented dancers perform "The Nutcracker" every holiday season. The Vandivort Center is located at 305 E. Walnut, Suite 301, Springfield Mo. (417) 862-1343.
Springfield Symphony
This is the 61st year for the symphony. The season runs September- May, but the performance heard by more people than any other is the choreographed music that is played during the local July 4th celebration. Located at 1536 E. Division, Springfield, Mo. Call 864-6683 for a schedule of this season's performances.
Springfield's Landers Theater
The Landers is home to many performances of Springfield Little Theater. Built in 1909, it has the distinction of being the only theater in Southwest Missouri on the National Register of Historic Places. The 642- seat theater was restored to it's original elegance after being bought by the Springfield Little Theatre organization in 1970. Along with the seven play and musicals put on stage, the Landers is also used by the Springfield Symphony and the Springfield Regional Opera. Located adjacent to the Vandivort Center at 311 E.
